Polyurethane coated with polyvinylpyrrolidones via triazole links for enhanced surface fouling resistance

Surfaces with hydrophilic and antimicrobial properties are very attractive for cardiovascular device-associated applications. The aim of this study was to prepare coat a polymer containing functional group capable forming triazole functionality onto the surface polyurethane (PU). modified surfaces were assessed cell adhesion, bacterial adhesion viability. Mouse fibroblast cells (NIH-3T3) three species used assessment. results showed that not only exhibited significant reduction in 25%–59% decrease mouse but also attachment 26%–67%, 24%–61% 23%–57% Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli Pseudomonas aeruginosa, respectively, as compared original PU. Furthermore, polymer-modified antibacterial function by inhibiting growth 49%–84%, 44%–79% 53%–79% S. E. P. These indicate covalent enhanced antifouling PU surface.
